The President of the Republic announced that he will not extend the state of emergency in Portugal. This regime provided in the Constitution, which allows the suspension of the exercise of some rights, freedoms and guarantees in situations of catastrophe, was enacted in Portugal for the first time in March last year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The President of the Republic defended that, even without a state of emergency, it will be necessary to maintain certain protective measures, appealing to individual responsibility.
