The Law Number 23/2018, of 5th June, transposes the Directive 2014/104/EU, of the European Parliament and Council, of 26th November 2014, concerning the rules about damages claims in the regard of national law for violations of the Member States’ and European Union competition law and amends the Law Number 19/2012, of 8th May, regarding the competition legal regime. Therefore, any company or company association that violates competition law must compensate, in full, everyone damaged by such violation, in the terms of article 483 of the Civil Code, expiring in the five years following the date in which the damaged was aware of the infraction. The law will enter into force in the 60 days after its publication.
