On 23.01.2026, the extension of the Initial Parental Leave was approved. The aforementioned Bill seeks to amend the regime governing the extension of the initial parental leave, currently set out in Article 40 of the Labour Code, approved by Law No. 7/2009 of 12 February, extending such leave up to 180 days with 100% remuneration, regardless of the sharing arrangement between the parents.
