Law No. 62/2026 of 10 September implements several European Union Regulations on migration and international protection and transposes Directives (EU) 2024/1346 and 2024/1233. The law amends Law No. 23/2007 of 4 July, concerning the entry, stay, exit and removal of foreign nationals, as well as Law No. 27/2008 of 30 June, concerning asylum and subsidiary protection. Among the amendments introduced are new screening and border return procedures, as well as revised procedures and time limits applicable to applications for international protection.
