Decree-Law No. 151/2026 of 30 July establishes a set of extraordinary and temporary measures aimed at overcoming the constraints identified in the municipal regulation of Local Accommodation. The legislation introduces transitional mechanisms for procedural simplification, allowing municipal councils to adopt more expeditious solutions in the assessment of applications, verification of requirements and issuance of authorisations. Supervisory powers are also strengthened, with the possibility of immediate action in cases of serious non-compliance, thereby ensuring greater legal certainty and protection for residents.
