Law no. 59/2026, of 25 August, updates the legal framework applicable to TVDE transport, extending the activity to include taxis and strengthening the rules governing identification and enforcement. The legislation introduces new requirements for drivers, namely mandatory training and the completion of a final examination. It also introduces digital monitoring mechanisms aimed at combating irregular activity and promoting greater uniformity within the sector.
